How do you maintain control of a lesson without becoming a strict and unpleasant teacher? For me, itโs all about understanding the difference between strictness and authority. The former is unnecessary, the latter is essential.

I like the distinction you make between strictness and authority. It’s very true. Children especially need an authoratitive teacher who commands their respect while also allowing time to recover with fun exercises after more serious tasks.
