Forte and Piano Worksheet

This worksheet is to help beginners to remember the difference between forte and piano. I assign this for homework after first explaining the terms and doing some exercises in the piano lesson. We usually talk about what type of piano playing a lion might like, then how a bunny might want it to sound, and have some fun whacking the keys and pressing them as softly as possible! Then we might play with some voting paddles for loud and soft without them looking at the keys. By the time I’m sending them home with this worksheet they’ll breeze through it!

Any thoughts? Do you use metaphors like this to explain other concepts? I’d love to hear about it!
